We began a new series at Fellowship this week called “Parenthood”. Over the next few weeks we’re going to think about what God says about parenting. He’s provided real answers for real parenting challenges. This is the amazing thing about God. He desires to help us in every area of life!
Parenting is tough. Parenting is tiring. Parenting is also constantly changing as our kids mature, and we must learn to adapt and grow as parents. Just about the time we think we’re “getting it”, everything changes again! This is truly an adventure that is worth our time and creativity.
In week one we talked about how we can navigate through the stages of childhood development so that we can gradually transfer our kids’ dependence away from us until it rests completely on God. One of the greatest ways we can do that is by being intentional with the key relationships in our kids’ lives. If we can help our kids become relationship rich, then they will have a great shot at building and maintaining key relationships. These are the relationships that will help carry them through life. It’s a huge task but something worth our best parenting efforts!
