Weekend in Review

I am so excited about Fellowship Church!  It feels great to finally be living in Glen Mills with the whole family.  The kids are in school now.  We’re unpacking boxes.  I’m enjoying my new office.  And we’re eating a lot of food that so many of you have dropped off for us.  Amazing!  We also got to enjoy our first worship experience as residents of the great state of Pennsylvania!  Here’s a little weekend review…
  • KidKollage met on Friday night and had a great time serving families of 1st through 5th grade students while introducing the virtue of “discipline”.
  • United met on Saturday night and many 6th through 12 grade students had the chance to connect, laugh, and be challenged.
  • Salome Thomas-El spoke on Sunday morning and gave an inspiring talk on leadership transitions, and how the best leaders are also followers.
  • We’re getting ready to launch the first teaching series of the year on Sunday, January 17th called “Blocks”.  Don’t miss it.
  • The volunteers continue to do amazing things!  Thanks.
  • There was great energy at FC all weekend, and I believe God was very happy.
I can’t wait for this coming Sunday!  See you there.

New Year - New Reading Plans

YouVersion Reading Plans

Last Sunday Ryan encouraged us to focus on the real and to forget the ideal as we get set to make our mark in 2010. As we make our plans and resolutions for this year, he challenged us to consider if we have first stopped to ask God want he wants for us.

The reality is that being obedient to God and trying to follow His will for our life is hard work. It doesn't come naturally or easily. That seems to be the case with most things in life that we want and that is why we have to be deliberate and make a plan if we want to achieve them. Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results is nothing more than insanity.

So for 2010, I how about making a commitment to learn more about what God wants for you by spending regular time in the Bible? Have you ever read through the entire Bible?  How about the New Testament?  How about in 90 days?  How about in 1 or even 3 years?  King James not your style, have you tried the New Living Translation or how about The Message?  Do you get confused by the order of events in the Old Testament, how about reading the Bible chronologically to help make sense out of it?

The team at LifeChurch.tv has recently made available over 20 customizable reading plans that you can try out.  Not only can you choose the plan that is right for you, you can track your progress, share what God is teaching you with friends, create a personal journal as well as make your reading plan part of your daily life by keeping in sync between the online version and your web enabled mobile device. You can also add your daily reading to your calendar or your RSS reader - you choose how you like to incorporate it.

Start by getting an overview of how the plans work on YouVersion and then take that first step!

Happy New Year!

2010

Happy New Year!  This week launches a new year, a new decade, and new hopes and dreams for the future.  I believe God is going to do amazing things through the church in 2010!  There's a song in Scripture that says this...

My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!

The real question is, are we ready?  Are we ready for God to increase our passion to love Him and serve others in ways that we can't even imagine?  Are we ready to express our confidence in God?  Don't let this new year begin without an investment of your best in those things that make a difference eternally.  You won't be disappointed!  To help with that, don't miss the first experience of the year at Fellowship.  Ryan Geiger will be sharing a forward looking talk on "leaving your mark".  See you there.

Fellowship Shows Christmas Spirit

Go Fellowship!  The Christmas Eve experiences were lots of fun and genuinely helped people think about how hope entered the world on “that night”.  The set was amazing and the room was filled with energy.  There were just fewer than 800 attenders and 25 people responded to the leadership and forgiveness that Christ offers to all!  Only God!  We also doubled our goal of $5,000 for Manna Worldwide.  Many children will be helped because of Fellowship's generosity.  Again...only God!  Thanks to the many volunteers who served and made the experience a success.
